Update Database

Overview

The Update Database feature lets you bulk-import plant records (Sites, Units, and Storage) into an open iPool system database from CSV or XLSX template files. For the full procedure, see Update Database.

What It Is

Update Database opens a dialog where you select prepared CSV or XLSX template files (Units.csv, Sites.csv, Stors.csv) and an output path, then click Update Database to import the records in bulk. Entries are added or updated in the system database without requiring manual row-by-row editing.

When to Use It

Use Update Database when Historical Load Step 6 produces a Historical Database Error Report (HistDBErr.csv) showing missing-in-db errors — units, sites, or storage entries that exist in IEMOP data but are not yet in the SysWESM database. Resolve these by importing the relevant template files before re-running the Historical Load.
