Working Folder

This section discusses what a working folderr is and what are the various folder and files inside.

What is a Working Folder?

The working folder contains multiple subfolders, Defaults.csv, DefInIt.bat, and batch file templates. A working folder serves as the central location for your scenario files, keeping inputs, outputs, and configurations organized so commands can be executed consistently. It acts as the main “home base” for your project.

The folders and files it contains are listed below.

Folder Structures

Bids	C:\IENERGY\WESMXXXX\Bids	Stores all bid files generated using iYBidWESM, iBidAgg and iBidEzy.
Databases	C:\IENERGY\WESMXXXX\Databases	Contains databases, the market network model, and CSV files used for adding Units, Sites, and Storages.
Demands	C:\IENERGY\WESMXXXX\Demands	Contains demand data derived from historical loads and the iEnergy demand forecasting service (iLoad).
DemModels	C:\IENERGY\WESMXXXX\DemModels	Stores output demand models generated by iLoad.
Documents	C:\IENERGY\WESMXXXX\Documents	Contains additional learning materials and documentation files.
Events	C:\IENERGY\WESMXXXX\Events	Stores event files generated from simulations or created manually by the user.
Generations	C:\IENERGY\WESMXXXX\Generations	Contains generation data from simulations, user-created files, or generation forecasts from iLoad.
References	C:\IENERGY\WESMXXXX\References	Contains reference materials to help users understand common terms and market concepts.
Scenarios	C:\IENERGY\WESMXXXX\Scenarios	Contains all scenario folders used for simulation runs.
WESM FILES	C:\IENERGY\WESMXXXX\WESM FILES	Stores historical iPool input files obtained from IEMOP, including RTD, WAP, and DAP files.

Folder names and paths must remain consistent with Defaults.csv to avoid runtime errors.

Each WESMXXXX folder represents a unique working folder for a specific time period or case study.
